Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by
Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon:

Councillor Ian Edwards (Leader of the Council), in conjunction
with Councillor Jonathan Bianco (Cabinet Member
for Corporate Services and Property) and on behalf of
Councillor Martin Goddard (Cabinet Member for Finance and
Transformation).
Decision Approved
That the Leader of the Council, in conjunction with the
Cabinet Member for Corporate Services & Property and on
behalf of the Cabinet Member for Finance &
Transformation:
1. Agreed to vary the Development Agreement with Kearns
Chippendale Waye LTD for the provision of 12 new
affordable homes, Flats 1 -12, Carpenters Court, 21
Chippendale Waye, Uxbridge for London Borough of
Hillingdon which is to omit the furniture and fitting package
from the original Development Agreement and add the
supplementary cost of £98,0 00 payable on completion of
the new homes.
2. Approved the virement £98,000 from the HRA Unallocated
Development & Acquisitions Budget to the Carpenters
Court Acquisition Programme budget, with this additional
budget to be released to fund the contract variation.
Reason for decision This project will deliver 12 flats of much needed affordable
housing at Chippendale Waye, Uxbridge. This decision to vary
the agreement was required because construction costs have
increased. The Leader agreed to a reduced cost to the
developer from what had been proposed in the report, following

further negotiations with the developer . Th e additional costs
arose on changes to the specification of the flats as a result of
unknown factors at the time the contract was let.
Furthermore, this matter was deemed urgent by the Leader to
enable homeless families are provided housing without delay
and, in this case, to be re-housed before Christmas.

delays and potentially non delivery of the units.

This decision was deemed urgent by the Leader of the Council with
the reason for urgency to ensure that homeless families are
provided housing without delay and, in this case, to be re- housed
before Christmas.
Agreement to waive the scrutiny call -in period, based on the
urgency set out, was also granted by the Chair of the Corporate
Resources and Infrastructure Select Committee.
THIS DECISION THEREFORE COMES INTO IMMEDIATE
EFFECT.
