Cabinet Member Decision Notice – 18 March 2021 OFFICIAL DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES ON 18 MARCH 2021 The Leader of the Council and the Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care have made the following decision today: 1. THE LEADER OF THE COUNCIL AND THE CABINET MEMBER FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE AWARD OF CONTRACT: AUTISM ASSESSMENTS DECISION: That the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member: 1. Accept the transfer of £91,500 from Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group to address a backlog of assessments of people with autistic spectrum disorder condition; 2. Accept a single tender from the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust to com plete a programme of assessments for people living with autistic spectrum disorder conditions for the London Borough of Hillingdon for the period between the 1st February 2021 and the 31st March 2021 at a total cost of £91,500. REASONS FOR THE DECISION MADE Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (HCCG) has £91.5k available through the North West London Transforming Care Partnership (TCP) to enable it to commission additional assessments of people with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) conditions. This funding must be spent by the 31st March 2021. The usual route would be for the CCG to commission the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) to undertake these assessments, but Covid-related directions from NHS England (NHSE) prevent this. CNWL currently undertake assessments for people with ASD and approval of the recommendation will enable them to address the backlog of cases and avoid the fragmentation that would result from another provider being introduced. ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED AND REJECTED Not to accept the funding: This would necessitate the CCG returning the funding and is therefore not recommended. Undertaking a competitive tender: This is not recommended as it would not be possible to undertake a competitive ten der within the timescale available.
