Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision HRA WTS 2021/22 Programme – Fire Safety Work-Stream – Phase 14 General Needs Electrical Fire Safety Upgrade 367 Dwellings - Tender Approval and Capital Release No 17 - PART II Reference No. 179 Date of decision 02 July 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Friday 09 July 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Corporate, Finance and Property Select Committee Relevant Ward(s) Botwell, Pinkwell and Townfield Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Cabinet Member for Finance Cabinet Member for Property & Infrastructure DECISION APPROVED That the Cabinet Member f or Finance and the Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure: 1) Accepted the tender and approve d the award of contract for Phase 14 electrical fire safety upgrades within 367 of the Council’s general needs housing stock to Re- Gen (M&E Services) Ltd at a cost of £271,286.63; and 2) Agreed to the capital release requests of £3 12k from the Fire Safety Workstream within the Housing Revenue Account Works to Stock Programme 2021/22 capital budget for the installation of Phase 14 electrical fire safety upgrade within 367 of the Council’s general needs housing stock. Reason for decision Recent changes to BS5839 -6:2019 now require general needs rented housing properties to have a minimum level of LD2 Fire Executive Decision Notice – [02 July 2021]. Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk Detection, which requires interlinked detection devices to be fitted in all kitchens, principal habitable rooms and escape routes. In order to ensure the electrical installations are in a satisfactory condition to ensure compliance with BS7671, officers have implemented a planned upgrade of electrical consumer units with all general needs housing stock. Alternative options considered and rejected No other options for carrying out these works were considered.
