Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision Contract Extension for the Provision of Supply, Fitting and Service of Tyres Reference No. 185 Date of decision 6 July 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Tuesday 13 July 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Corporate, Finance and Property Relevant Ward(s) All Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor John Riley - Cabinet Member for Public Safety and Transport Councillor Martin Goddard - Cabinet Member for Finance DECISION APPROVED That the Cabinet Member for Public Safety & Transport and Cabinet Member for Finance agreed to extend the current contract with RMT Tyres Ltd , for the provision of a tyre replacement service for London of Borough of Hillingdon fleet for a two-year period from 6 March 2021 until 5 July 2023 at cost of £310,560. Reason for decision RMT Tyres Ltd provides an on-site tyre repair service delivering a 24 -hour call -out attendance service. The 24 -hour service ensures that the Council has continuous tyre management coverage. RMT Tyres Ltd has delivered a cost effective and reliable service to the Council for th irteen years and recently i ntroduced additional benefits to deliver a more cost-effective service. Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk Alternative options considered and rejected An “in house” service option: Equipment would need to be purchased and a skilled tyre fitter would need to be employed. To consolidate tyre management into the main vehicle maintenance contract: The present maintenance provider is not equipped to carry out this function. Classification Report exempt from publication That this report be declared as exempt from publication as it involves the disclosure of information in accordance with Section 100(A) and paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12 (A) to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), in that the report contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) and that the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it. Officers can implement Cabinet Member decision in this notice only from the expiry of the scrutiny call-in period which is: 5pm, Tuesday 13 July 2021 However, this is subject to the decision not being called in by Councillors on the relevant Select Committee. Upon receipt of a valid call-in request, Democratic Services will immediately advise the relevant officer(s) and the decision must then be put on hold.
