Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision Updated Contractual Arrangement for USAC Accommodation Reference No. 220 Date of decision 16 July 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Friday 23 July 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Families, Health and Wellbeing Relevant Ward(s) All Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Ian Edwards – Leader of the Council Councillor Jane Palmer – Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care DECISION APPROVED That the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care approve the uplift of the rate for Centremark Properties Limited for the provision of asylum seeker accommodation to the London Borough of Hillingdon from £20.50 to £25 per day at a total annual cost of £123,200 per annum. Reason for decision Section 20 of the Children Act, 1989 places a duty on the Council to secure suitable accommodation for asylum seeking children who have no responsible adult to care for them . The Children (Leaving Care) Act, 2000 places a continuing duty on the Council lasting, in some cases, until the age of 25 to provide support . The Council has been discharging the provision of accommodation duty by utilising housing supplied by Centremark Property Services Limited. Alternative options considered and rejected Taking no further action and seeking alternative provision were both considered.
