Capital Release Decision Notice – 12 October 2021 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision Contract Award: Confirmation of building contract award for the new Yiewsley & West Drayton Leisure Centre Reference No. 286 Date of decision 12 October 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Tuesday 19 October 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Corporate, Finance and Property Services Select Committee Relevant Ward(s) West Drayton / All Wards. Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Ian Edwards – Leader of the Council Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance DECISION APPROVED That the Leader of the Council, Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure and Cabinet Member for Finance: 1. accepted the final tendered bid from Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd for the design and construction of the new Yiewsley and West Drayton Leisure Centre as set out in the report; and 2. agreed to the capital release request for the construction of the new Yiewsley and West Drayton Leisure Centre as set out in the report. Reason for decision Following a feasibility study on the need to develop additional sport and recreational facilities in the Yiewsley and West Drayton areas, the Council’s consultants Max Associates’ assessment demonstrated that there is a clear need to provide additional sports hall and swimming facilities in this area of the Borough. Capital Release Decision Notice – 12 October 2021 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk Therefore, the Leader of Council, the Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure, and the Cabinet Member for Finance decided to accept the final tendered bid from Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd and agreed to the capital release request in order to progress the design and construction of the new Yiewsley and West Drayton Leisure Centre. Alternative options considered and rejected Alternative options were set out in the report considered by Cabinet in May 2017.
