OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE
PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES
Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet
Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon:
Title of decision
AWARD OF DANGEROUS STRUCTURES EMERGENCY WORKS
FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT 2021-2025
Reference No. 676
Date of decision Thursday 26 January 2023
Call-in expiry date Thursday 02 February 2023
Relevant Select
Committee

Decision made
Cabinet Members
making the decision
Councillor Eddie Lavery – Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services
Approved
That the Cabinet Member accept ed the direct award to
Wates Living Space (Maintenance) Limited via the
Dangerous Structures Framework for the dangerous
structures’ emergency service provision on behalf of the
London Borough of Hillingdon from 1 January 2023 to 18
March 2025 and up to a value of £130,000.
Reason for decision It is difficult for a local authority to make its own arrangements with
smaller building firms given the requirement for ad hoc and standby
services. Procuring such services on an individual basis could result
in a low level of contractor utilisation and thus increased costs. The
use of a framework arrangement whereby a number of local
authorities come together to procure such services assures a
reasonable amount of work to the successful contractor and thus
lower costs.
Alternative options

rejected
None.
