Executive Decision Notice – 26 July 2022 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision HOUSING REVENUE ACCOUNT WORKS TO STOCK 2022/23 PROGRAMME – FIRE SAFETY WORK -STREAM – INSTALLATION OF FIRE DOORS PHASE 20 - TENDER APPROVAL AND CAPITAL RELEASE NO: 14 Reference No. 544 Date of decision Tuesday 26 July 2022 Call-in expiry date 5pm, Tuesday 02 August 2022 Relevant Select Committee Property, Highways & Transport Select Committee Relevant Wards South Ruislip, Ruislip Manor, Eastcote, Ickenham & Sout h Harefield and Heathrow Villages Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Martin Goddard - Cabinet Member for Finance Councillor Jonathan Bianco - Cabinet Member for Property, Highways & Transport Approved That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport: 1) Accepted the tender and approve d the award of contract for the replacement and installation of fire doors for Phase 20 to Gerda Security Products Limited at a cost of £256,791.98; and 2) Agreed to the Capital release requests of £295k from the Fire Safety Workstream within the Housing Revenue Account Works to Stock Programme 2022/23 capital budget for the replacement and installation of fire doors for Phase 20. Reason for decision Fire risk assessments were undertaken and the report recommended that several main entrance doors of properties do not meet with the current fire regulations and would not provide appropriate protection in the event of a fire. Following these Executive Decision Notice – 26 July 2022 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk recommendations, officers were required to upgrade all the main entrance door sets to FD30s. Replacing the main entrance doors to FD30s w ould mean that all doors would have 30 minutes resistance within the event of a fire and would be compliant with fire safety regulations. Alternative options considered and rejected No other options for carrying out these works were considered.
