Special Urgency Decision Notice – 28 March 2024 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision VOIDS REPAIR SERVICE CONTRACT EXTENSION Reference No. 1079 Date of decision Thursday 28 March 2024 Call-in expiry date SPECIAL URGENCY N/A – This decision comes into immediate effect Relevant Select Committees Property, Highways and Transport Select Committee Relevant Ward N/A Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision The Leader of the Council and the Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport APPROVED That the Leader of the Council and the Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport: 1) Approve a 3-month extension to Pilon Ltd - For the Void Services Contract for the North Area for housing properties at the estimated annual cost of £562k based on a like for like activity over the last 12 months; and 2) Approve a 3-month extension to Greyline Ltd - For the Void Services Contract for the South Area for housing properties at the estimated annual cost of £427k based on a like for like activity over the last 12 months. Reason for decision The effective servicing and repair on void housing properties is essential to ensure that the Council’s housing stock is effectively utilised to the benefit of our tenants. Providing modern well - maintained properties from the onset of their tenancy. Alternative options considered and rejected Alternative options were set out in the confidential report. This decision was taken under special urgency procedures in the Council Constitution and deemed urgent by the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport. The reason for urgency is due to the legal challenge and the need to have compliant contractual arrangements in place through the temporary extension of existing arrangements. This will provide continuity of service and ensure the number of void properties are minimised, ensuring the availabi lity of housing supply for residents. Agreement that the matter was urgent and could not have been reasonably deferred, along with the waiver of the scrutiny call-in period, was also granted by the Chair of the Property, Highways and Transport Select Committee. THIS DECISION THEREFORE COMES INTO IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
