Decision Approved
That the Leader of the Council and the Cabinet Member for
Residents’ Services agreed to the appointment of
WasteCare Ltd for the disposal of non- compliant and
unsafe single use vape products seized and detained at
Heathrow Airport by the Council’s Trading Standards
Officers.
Reason for decision The Council has a statutory duty to ensure that consumer goods
intended for the UK market are safe and comply with all relevant
legislation. Trading Standards Officers carry out regular checks
on imported goods at Heathrow Airport.

Other ATFs / AATFs may be available. Should the Council
choose a supplier not on the OPSS list then additional due
diligence checks would be required. The OPSS is satisfied that
the suppliers on their list offer good value for money and have
the necessary expertise to dispose of detained goods.
