Decision Approved
That the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for
Corporate Services & Property authorised the grant of a
renewal of the lease and rent, as negotiated by officers as
detailed in this report and instructed the Corporate Director
of Place to complete the appropriate legal documents in
consultation with legal services.
Reason for decision Lengthy negotiations have taken place with the former tenant
which have agreed a substantial rental increase in principle. This
increase is particularly positive in the current difficult property
climate, after the backdrop of the higher inflation and energy
costs, depressed growth for the UK economy and its peripheral
effects. Officers are confident that this is the maximum
achievable rental increase for the granting of the new lease.

The Leader and Cabinet Member could choose not to approve
the grant of new lease negotiated and consider alternative uses.
