Lot one – 4 Fleet vehicles at the cost of £171,980 from Isuzu Track UK Limited b. Lot two - 2 Fleet vehicles at the cost of £67,358 from Renault UK Limited 2) approve the capital release request of £239,338 from the 2021/22 Purchase of Vehicles capital budget to fund the purchase of six (6) highways vehicles (Appendix A). Reason for decision Purchasing of the vehicles will be more cost effective when compared to the alternative option of hiring of the vehicles. Executive Decision Notice – [9 July 2021]. Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk Purchasing the vehicles is essential to meet a number of separate legislative requirements, including the Government’s Environment Bill 2020. Alternative options considered and rejected 1) The Council could decide to use hired vehicles; however, this is a more expensive option than purchasing and owning our own vehicles. 2) The Council could decide to continue to use the existing vehicles but the costs for maintenance and Low Emission Zone fees would be greater than purchasing new vehicles. 3) The Council could decide to outsource the service, but this is not a viable solution.
