(Appendix A) Reason for decision To provide the formal release of capital funds following Cabinet approval to purchase new corporate fleet vehicles in May 2021. Purchasing of the vehicles will be more cost effective when compared to hiring of the vehicles from external suppliers. This will reduce the revenue costs related to the hire arrangements and will finalise the vehicle replacements program. Purchasing the vehicles is essential to meet a number of separate legislative requirements, including the Government’s Environment Bill 2020. Executive Decision Notice – 12 August 2021 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk Alternative options considered and rejected The Council could decide to continue to use hired vehicles; however, this is considered to be a more expensive option than purchasing new vehicles.
