Executive Decision Notice – 08 December 2021 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision UXBRIDGE MORTUARY EXTENSION AND REMODELLING: CAPITAL RELEASE & CONTRACT VARIATION Reference No. 323 Date of decision Wednesday 8 December 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Wednesday 15 December 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Environment, Housing & Regeneration Select Committee Relevant Ward(s) Brunel Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance APPROVED That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure agree to: 1. a contract variation with Log an Construction (South East) Ltd for £478k for additional works to the extension at the Uxbridge Mortuary; and 2. the capital release request of £498k from the general capital contingency 2021- 26 budget for the funding of the additional works to the extension at the Uxbridge Mortuary. Reason for decision Approving this release will allow for the completion of the necessary extension and reconfiguration of the existing facilities on site required at Uxbridge Mortuary , to increase capacity in terms of storage, post-mortems and the development of a training centre on site. Alternative options considered and rejected The daily operation of the Uxbridge Mortuary is limited , due to the current capacity and equipment . Alternatives, such as the hire of temporary storage units , is no longer an efficient way of operating.
