That the Leader of the Council, Cabinet Member for
Residents’ Services and Cabinet Member for Finance agree
to:
1. A c ontract variation with Logan Construction (South
East) Ltd for £ 768k for additional works to the
extension at the Uxbridge Mortuary; and
2. A pprove a virement of £916k from the 2022/23
general capital contingency budget to the Uxbridge
Mortuary Extension project and associated capital
release for the funding of the additional works to the
extension at the Uxbridge Mortuary.
Reason for decision
Approval will allow for the completion of the necessary extension
and reconfiguration of the existing facilities on site required at
Uxbridge Mortuary , to increase capacity in terms of storage,
post-mortems and the development of a training centre on site.
Alternative options
considered and
rejected
The daily operation of the Uxbridge Mortuary is limited , due to
the current capacity and equipment . Alternatives, such as the
hire of temporary storage units , is no longer an efficient way of
operating. Therefore, these works are required to ensure the
