Executive Decision Notice – 13 December 2021 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision HOUSING REVENUE ACCOUNT 2021/22 PROGRAMME - PLANNED EXTER NAL DECORATIONS - TENDER APPROVAL Reference No. 335 Date of decision Monday 13 December 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Monday 20 December 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Corporate, Finance & Property Select Committee Relevant Ward(s) Yeading, Harefield, Uxbridge North, Uxbridge South, Yiewsley Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Property and Infrastructure Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance APPROVED That the Cabinet Member for Property & Infrastructure and the Cabinet Member for Finance: 1. Accept the tender from Bell Decorating Group UK Limited for Lot 1 (£118.25k) 2. Accept the tender from Bell Decorating Group UK Limited for Lot 2 (£50.10k); 3. Accept the tender from Alfred Bagnall & Sons Limited for Lot 3 (£47.35k); for the provision of the External Pre -Painting Repairs & Redecoration Works Programme 2021/22 to the London Borough of Hillingdon for a 15-week period at the total value of £215.7k. Reason for decision The proposed contract is to undertake the planned repairs and external redecorations of the program in three separate lots . Executive Decision Notice – 13 December 2021 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk This will deal with a number of properties that are due cyclical repairs and redecorations. This is a 2021/22 element of a phased program of external pre- painting repairs and re-decorations aimed at quickly dealing with redecorations, and enabling the effective management of smaller work packages and reduction of costs by the use of smaller more specialist decorating companies. Alternative options considered and rejected Moving away from the larger type of delivery contracts gives greater flexibility to deal with risks associated with poor contractor performance. This approach will enable more specialist contractors to deliver installations at lower costs.
