Executive Decision Notice – 21 December 2021 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision CAPITAL RELEASE REPORT (November 2021) DEPARTMENT: Residents Services SERVICE AREA / PROGRAMME: CCTV Corporate Programme 2021/22 RELEASE NO: 2 Reference No. 343 Date of decision Tuesday 21 December 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on Thursday 30 December 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Public Safety & Transport Select Committee Relevant Ward(s) West Drayton, Uxbridge North, Brunel Ward, Botwell and West Ruislip Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Martin Goddard - Cabinet Member for Finance Councillor John Riley - Cabinet Member for Public Safety and Transport APPROVED That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabine t Member for Public Safety and Transport agree to the projects set out and capital release of £46k from the CCTV Corporate Programme 2021/22 budget for the installation of CCTV cameras at various locations across the Borough. Reason for decision The primary objective of the Cr ime and Disorder Act 1998 was to give more responsibility to local authorities with regards to implementing strategies to help with the reduction of crime and public disorder within the local community. Part of the CCTV Programme Manager’s role is to review and monitor all requests for CCTV cameras across the Borough and to ensure any such request is fully compliant with UK data protection law. All camera deployments must comply with the Information Commissioners Office Codes of Practice as well as current legislation to ensure there are no breaches of privacy that could make the Council liable. In addition to compliance, the management of the CCTV infrastructure must be continually Executive Decision Notice – 21 December 2021 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk re-assessed to ensure that the Council is continuously improving and enhancing its CCTV capability. All CCTV installations will be in line with UKGDPR regulations which came into force in May 2018. A Data Impact Assessment will be carried out at each site and approved by the Statutory Data Protection Officer. Alternative options considered and rejected None Classification Part II – Members Only and Not for Publication That this report be declared as exempt from publication as it involves the disclosure of information in accordance with Section 100(A) and paragraph 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12 (A) to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), in that the report contains information relating to any action taken or to be taken in connection with the prevention, investigation or prosecution of crime and that the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it. Upon receipt of a valid call-in request, Democratic Services will immediately advise the relevant officer(s) and the decision must then be put on hold.
