Executive Decision Notice – 28 June 2022 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision CAPITAL RELEASE REPORT (June 2022) DEPARTMENT: Place SERVICE AREA / PROGRAMME: School Conditions Programme 2022/23 RELEASE NO: 2 Reference No. 515 Date of decision Tueday 28 June 2022 Call-in expiry date 5pm, Tuesday 05 July 2022 Relevant Select Committee Property, Highways & Transport Select Committee Relevant Ward All Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Deputy Leader of the Council & Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance Approved That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet Member for Property, Highways & Transport agree to the following capital release requests of £98k from the 2022/23 School Conditions Building Programme budget for the funding of external fabric works at Hillside Infant School . (Appendix A) Reason for decision Works are required due to age related wear and the presence of damaged asbestos panelling associated with the external fabric, soffit, rotting timber frames and door areas. Deteriorating condition requires immediate attention to ensure the long- term condition of the school is maintained. Alternative options considered and rejected Not carrying out the works would leave the school with deteriorating conditions which includes asbestos cont aining materials; with the defects being time related the costs of undertaking the works later would increase as the items deteriorate further.
