Approved
That the Cabinet Member for Property, Highways &
Transport and the Cabinet Member for Finance:
1) Accepted the tender from KP Building Contractors
Ltd for the provision of Structural Re medial works
associated with the properties at 18- 20 Seymour
Gardens at the value of £361k;
2) Agreed to the Capital Release of £ 460k from the
Structural Works workstream within the Housing
Revenue Account Works to Stock Programme
2022/23 Capital Budget for the Structural R emedial
Works associated with the properties at 18- 20
Seymour Gardens; and,
3) Agreed the funding of £ 24k from the H RA revenue
budget for the removal and storage costs and the
temporary accommodation costs associated with the
remedial works required at 18 – 20 Seymour Gardens.
Reason for decision A number of structural works projects have been identified over
the past few years, and some received informal approval to be

developed into schemes for tender and subsequent delivery.
However, none of these were fully taken forward for several
reasons at that time.
A review of these projects was undertaken including site visit s,
visual condition assessments and resident communication
relating to these specific issues.
An assessment of the findings highlighted the need for specialist
input into the development of an appropriate programme of
work, to address the most urgent ou tstanding structural issues
across the Council's housing stock.

The Cabinet Members could have decided to take no action.
However, this would lead to further deterioration of the housing
stock and could lead to disrepair claims.
