OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE
PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES
Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by
Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon:
Title of decision Disabled Facilities Grant & Adaptations Supply & Install of
Stairlifts and Ceiling Track Hoists - Contract Extension
Reference No. 1086
Date of decision Wednesday 24 April 2024
Call-in expiry date Wednesday 01 May 2024
Relevant Select
Committee
Property, Highways and Transport Select Committee
Relevant Wards All Wards
Decision made
Cabinet Members
making the decision
Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance
Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Property,
Highways and Transport
Decision Approved
That the Cabinet Members approve d a 1- year
contract extension to Prism UK Medical Ltd for the
supply and install of stairlifts and ceiling track hoists
within private dwellings and the Council's housing
stock at the estimated cost of £420k. The 1- year
extension is from 1st May 2024 to 30th April 2025.
Reason for decision The arrangement for the past 3 years for the supply and install
of stairlifts and ceiling track hoists has been successful and
has enabled officers to have greater control over performance
and service delivery. The model has allowed controls to be
built which has enabled the team to fully monitor the works,
scope, and value.
Alternative options
considered and
rejected
Alternative options would be to continue to tender small
packages of works in phases, which increases the risk of
service failure and potential delays in installations of essential
equipment.
