Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by
Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon:

That the Cabinet Members:
1. Accepted the tender from Electrolux Professional
for the provision of the supply and installation of
replacement communal laundry equipment to the
London Borough of
Hillingdon for a value of
£153,319.00; and
2. Approved the capital release request of £186k
Capital Funding to enable work to be completed
from the Warm Safe Dry Programme 2025/26
budget.
Reason for decision The Council is currently responsible for 116 Communal
Laundry Equipment Items located within 27 Residential sites
within Hillingdon. The equipment is made up of Industrial
Tumble Dryers and Washing Machines.
The existing equipment is becoming unreliable and difficult
to maintain due to age and availability of adequate
replacements
Officer have identified and tendered the first Phase of
Appliances to be replaced within 2025/26 financial year with

the remainder planned for 2026/27. The completion of the
upgrade programme will provide the residents with reliable
equipment and the Council with a standardised stock.
Alternative options
considered and rejected
The Council could decide not to complete the replacement
programme. However, this will lead to expensive emergency
replacements, higher maintenance costs and resident
dissatisfaction.
