Decision Agreed
That the Leader of the Council in consultation with the
Cabinet Members:
1) Noted the initial award of early enabling works at
a cost of £85k and £99k to RME Services Ltd.
2) Awarded a building works contract to RME
Services Ltd for stage 1 of the refurbishment
works at Deanesfield Primary School at the cost
of £198k.
3) Awarded a further building works contract to
RME Services Ltd for stage 2 of the refurbishment
works at Deanesfield Primary School at the cost
of £176k.
4) Agreed to a capital release request of £571k from
the 2026/27 Schools Conditions Building
Programme budget for the works at Deanesfield
Primary School.
Reason for decision Completing these works will ensure that Deanesfield
Primary School has adequate classroom facilities for
teaching and learning.

Alternative options
considered and rejected
The do-nothing option was discounted because the modular
unit would continue to deteriorate and would no longer be
suitable for teaching.
