Executive Decision Notice – 07 July 2021 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision The Service, Maintenance & Repair of Automatic Gates, Bollards, Shutters & Barriers for Housing & Corporate Properties Reference No. 180 Date of decision 07 July 2021 Call-in expiry date 5pm, on 14 July 2021 Relevant Select Committee(s) Corporate, Finance and Property Select Committee Relevant Ward(s) All Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Cllr Martin Goddard - Cabinet Member for Finance Cllr Jonathan Bianco - Cabinet Member for Property & Infrastructure DECISION APPROVED That the Cabinet Members for Finance and Property and Infrastructure: 1) Accepted the tender from DSSL GROUP LTD for the provision of The Service, Maintenance & Repair of Automatic Gates, Bollards, Shutters & Barriers for housing & corporate properties for a period of 3 years from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2024 and at the value of £50k per annum: and 2) Agreed that this includes the provision to extend the contract for a 2-year period (5 years in total), subject to further approval from Cabinet Members as required. Reason for decision The current arrangement for The Service, Maintenance & Repair of Automatic Gates, Bollards, Shutters & Barriers for housing & corporate properties is being covered on an interim Executive Decision Notice – 07 July 2021 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk basis by Grec Systems Ltd. The Council does not possess the necessary capabilities in house to provide such services and has traditionally outsourced these to a specialist contractor. Automatic Gates, B ollards, Shutters & Barriers , are subject to periodic, thorough examination and inspection; as required by the Machinery Directive Automatic Gates, Bollards, Shutters & Barriers provided for use are thoroughly examined by a competent person at regular intervals. Alternative options considered and rejected The Council could decide not to complete regular inspections of its current lift assets. However, it would be in breach of its requirements under Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and by the Machinery Directive. Classification Exempt from publication That this report be declared as exempt from publication as it involves the disclosure of information in accordance with Section 100(A) and paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12 (A) to the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended), in that the report contains information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) and that the public interest in withholding the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing it.
