Executive Decision Notice – 31 August 2022 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision CHRYSALIS PROGRAMME 2022/23 PLAYGROUNDS TENDER ACCEPTANCE AND CAPITAL RELEASE NO 3 Reference No. 579 Date of decision Wednesday 31 August 2022 Call-in expiry date 5pm, Wednesday 07 September 2022 Relevant Select Committee Residents’ Services Select Committee Relevant Wards Heathrow Villages and Ruislip Manor Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Eddie Lavery – Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services Councillor Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance Approved That the Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services: 1) Approved the allocation of £194k Chrysalis funding for playground improvements at West End Road / Ruislip Gardens Stati on and Heathrow Close Playground as part of the asset enhancement programme for 2022/23. That the Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services and the Cabinet Member for Finance: 2) Accepted the tender from HAGS -SMP Ltd for the refurbishment of the playground ad jacent to West End Road / Ruislip Gardens Station (Lot 1) for completion by 31 December 2022 at the value of £95k; 3) Accepted the tender from HAGS -SMP Ltd for the refurbishment of the playground at Heathrow Close (Lot 2) for completion by 31 December 2022 at the value of £95k; and Executive Decision Notice – 31 August 2022 Page 2 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk 4) Agreed to the capital release request of £194k from the Chrysalis 2022/23 budget to fund playground improvements at both playgrounds as part of the asset enhancement programme for 2022/23. Reason for decision Chrysalis is the Council’s highly successful asset enhancement initiative which funds projects ranging in scale from £5,000 to £100,000 for local initiatives that matter to residents. The playground refurbishments at West End Road Recreation Ground and Heathrow Close Playground were nominated by local residents. Ward Councillors ha d also been consulted for their views on the range of equipment to be provided. Alternative options considered and rejected The Cabinet Members could have decided not to accept the recommendations and either one, or none of the projects would benefit from the improvements which have been requested.
