a period of three years; and,
4) Authorised the Corporate Director of Place, in consultation
with the Cabinet Member for Residents’ Services, to make any
further necessary decisions with regard to the project’s

Reason for decision Enhanced e nforcement of traffic management regulations will
improve compliance with those regulations, improve road safety and
reduce traffic obstruction on the highways network.
A reduction in traffic congestion will also assist in improving air quality,
helping to reduce carbon levels. Introducing the required unattended
CCTV enforcement units, by varying the existing parking enforcement
contract will ensure that the necessary equipment is obtained at the
most effective rates available.
Alternative options
considered and
rejected
To undertake a full tendering procurement exercise to purchase,
install and operate the required unattended CCTV enforcement
options via a framework agreement . A review of the framework
agreements available concluded that this was not a feasible option. :
In addition to this, discussions with CCTV industry suppliers indicated
that costs would be higher, and no quantity discounts would be
obtained for the sixteen cameras.
