Decision made
Cabinet Members
making the decision
Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance &
Transformation
Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Corporate
Services & Property
Decision Approved
The Cabinet Member for Finance & Transformation, in
conjunction with the Cabinet Member for Corporate
Services & Property:
• Accepted the tender from D R JONES LIMITED for
delivery of the Roofing Programme – Phase 6 at a
residential site in Uxbridge for a period of 20 weeks, at a
contract value of £215k; and
• Agreed to the release of £248k (inclusive of
contingencies and fees) from the Roof Renewals work -
stream within the Housing Revenue Account Works to
Stock programme 2025/26.
Reason for decision The proposed contract covers the next phase of the Council’s
planned programme of roof renewals. This phase will see a
number of properties benefit from new roofs, replacing ones
that have reached the end of their life cycle. The phased
approach allows the Council to manage works effectively,
make use of specialist contractors, and deliver the programme
in a cost-efficient way.

Alternative options
considered and
rejected
Moving away from the larger type of delivery contracts gives
greater flexibility to deal with risks associated with poor
contractor performance. This approach will enable more
specialist contractors to deliver installations at lower costs.
