CAPITAL RELEASE REPORT (November 2022)
DEPARTMENT: PLACE
SERVICE AREA / PROGRAMME: Property of Works
Programme 2022/23: Internal Fabric Workstream –
Harlington Road Depot Block D Office conversion
RELEASE NO: 15
Reference No. 636
Date of decision 11 November 2022
Call-in expiry date Friday 18 November 2022

Committee

Decision made
Cabinet Members
making the decision
Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Property,
Highways & Transport
Councillor Martin Goddard - Cabinet Member for Finance
Approved
That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet
Member for Property, Highways and Transport agree d to
the capital release requests of £75k from the Internal Fabric
Workstream within the Property of Works Programme
2022/23 capital budget for the Harlington Road Depot Block
D office conversion project.
Reason for decision
The resolution will enable the creation of office space in block D
of the Harlington Road Depot site. The new offices will be used
by waste services and will deal with the long-standing
operational issues of office accommodation for the service.
Alternative options
considered and
rejected
Limited options are available at the Depot site for the creation of
office space; therefore, the conversion of block D is the most
cost-effective solution.
The Council could decide not to progress with the works ;
however, the existing offices used by waste services are not fit
for purpose and have several issues around suitable seating
capacity and space for operative management.
