Executive Decision Notice – 20 March 2024 Page 1 This notice is a public document also available to view on the Council's website www.hillingdon.gov.uk OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon: Title of decision HOUSE EXTENSION & NEW BUILD PROGRAMME APPOINTMENT OF CONTRACTOR TO EXTEND 2 HOUSES AT 14 STATION ROAD AND 35 BERBERIS WALK WITH ASSOCIATED CAPITAL RELEASE Reference No. 1052 Date of decision Wednesday 20 March 2024 Call-in expiry date Wednesday 27 March 2024 Relevant Select Committee Property, Highways and Transport Select Committee Relevant Wards Uxbridge and West Drayton Decision made Cabinet Members making the decision Councillor Jonathan Bianco – Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport Councillor Martin Goddard – Cabinet Member for Finance Decision Approved That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet Member for Property, Highways and Transport: 1. Approve the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) House Extension Programme to extend 2 properties (14 Station Road and 35 Berberis Walk) in the current housing stock from 3 to 4 bedroom properties with a WC on ground floor to meet current housing requirements; 2. Accept the tender from ICB at a cost of £153K to carry out works to extend 14 Station Road and 35 Berberis Walk; and 3. Agree to the total capital release request of £194K from Housing Revenue Account (HRA) House Extension Programme Budget to carry out works to extend 14 Station Road and 35 Berberis Walk, as set out in Appendix A. Reason for decision To make the best use of the Council’s assets for the benefit of local residents requiring housing accommodation. Alternative options considered and rejected Alternative options to build new housing stock of 4 bed units has been explored, however the opportunity to extend current stock is more favourable and would provide better value for money for the Council.
