That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet
Member for Property, Highways and Transport:
1. Approved the Housing Extra Bedroom Programme
Scheme to extend 3 properties in the current housing
stock from 3 to 4 bedroom properties to meet current
housing requirements;
2. Approved the appointment of KP Building
Contractors Ltd at a cost of £179k to carry out works
to extend 136 East Avenue , Hayes, UB3 2HS, 6
Maygoods View, High Road, Cowley, Uxbridge, UB8
2HG and 110 Collingwood Road, Uxbridge, UB8 3EN;
and,
3. Agreed to the capital release request of £147k from
the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) Extra Bedroom
Programme budget for construction costs and
associated fees to extend 3 houses (Appendix B to
the report).
Reason for decision To make the best use of the Council’s assets for the benefit of
local residents requiring housing accommodation.

Alternative options
considered and
rejected
Alternative options to build new housing stock of 4 bed units
were explored, however, the opportunity to extend current stock
was more favourable and would provide better value for money
for the Council.
