That the Cabinet Member for Finance and the Cabinet
Member for Property, Highways and Transport:
1) Approved the Housing Extension Programme
Scheme to extend 3 properties in the current housing
stock from 3 to 4 bedroom properties to meet current
housing requirements;
2) Approved the appointment of KP Building
Contractors Ltd at a cost of £171,800 to c arry out
works to extend 20 Romney Road, Hayes, UB4 8PU,
119 Whitethorn Avenue, West Drayton, UB7 8LB and
1 Meadow View, High Road, Cowley, Uxbridge, UB8
2HJ;
3) Agreed to the capital release request of £216k from
the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) Loft Extensions
budget for construction costs and associated fees to
extend 3 houses.
Reason for decision To make the best use of the Council’s assets for the benefit of
local residents requiring housing accommodation.

Alternative options

Alternative options to build new housing stock of 4 b ed units
were explored, however, the opportunity to extend current stock
was more favourable and would provide better value for money
for the Council.
