Decision made
Cabinet Members
making the decision
Councillor Martin Goddard, Cabinet Member for Finance and
Transformation
Decision Approved
That the Cabinet Member for Finance and Transformation:
1. Accepts the variation to the existing 2022 contract
with Oracle Corporation UK Limited to enable the
purchase of additional Oracle Licences for a 1-year
period from 16
th January 2025 to 15th January 2026
and at the value of £161,032.
2. Furthermore, agrees that that this includes the
provision to extend this to 29
th February 2028,
authorising approval of any extension to the Chief
Operating Officer in consultation with the Corporate
Director of Finance and the Cabinet Member for
Finance and Transformation.
Reason for decision Following a review of license usage, this decision addresses the
need to procure additional software licences for Council staff to
use the Council’s new financial system ( Oracle Fusion
ERP/EPM), which went live in May 2024.
This ensures that the relevant Council staff can monitor and
manage budgets within their span of responsibility, importantly
contributing to the Council’s wider budget monitoring.
Alternative options
considered and
rejected
To not procure would reduce access to the financial system and
risk the monitoring and management of budgets.
