OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE DECISION NOTICE
PUBLISHED BY DEMOCRATIC SERVICES
Notice is hereby given that the following decision(s) have been made today by
Cabinet Members at the London Borough of Hillingdon:
Title of decision CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF FOOD CADDIES
Reference No. 1585
Date of decision Monday 22 December 2025
Call-in expiry date Wednesday 31 December 2025

Committee

Decision made
Cabinet Members making
the decision
Councillor Ian Edwards, Leader of the Council
Councillor Wayne Bridges, Cabinet Member for Community
& Environment
Decision APPROVED
The Leader of the Council, in consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Community & Environment
approved the acceptance of the tender to ensure
continued provision of food waste collection services
to residents across the Borough.
Reason for decision The recommendations supported the Council’s waste and
recycling objectives by maintaining a reliable supply of food
waste caddies, helping to maximise participation in recycling
services and contribute towards meeting waste reduction
and recycling targets. The approved tender represented a
compliant and cost-effective solution in accordance with the
Council’s procurement requirements and financial
considerations.
Alternative options
considered and rejected
An option to not provide food waste caddies was considered
but rejected, as this would have risked disruption to the
delivery of the food waste collection service and had a
detrimental impact on residents. Alternative approaches
were not pursued as the rec ommended option best
supported the Council’s waste prevention objectives and
compliance with national waste and recycling policy
requirements.
